This program focuses on promoting gender equality and protecting the rights of women, girls, and children in Uganda, particularly in the Rwenzori region, where access to education, healthcare, and legal protections is limited, and harmful cultural practices persist. Gender-based violence, early child marriage, and child labor are prevalent, hindering the development and well-being of women and children. By ensuring access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and legal protections, we aim to break down these barriers and empower these groups to make informed decisions, pursue their ambitions, and contribute to their communities.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), this program focuses on providing skills training, advocating for the elimination of child labor, and enhancing the protection of women and children’s rights. It aims to tackle the root causes of inequality and injustice by raising awareness, supporting women’s and girls’ leadership, and providing access to essential services such as healthcare and education.
By addressing gender inequality, promoting child protection, and economic empowerment, the program fosters an inclusive society where women, girls, and children can thrive. Through targeted interventions and community engagement, we envision a future where these groups have the opportunities, resources, and support they need to lead fulfilling, empowered lives
